Welcome to Bierton Lawn Tennis Club

About the Club

The Club has been in existence since 1916. We are a small, friendly village club which provides the opportunity to play tennis both competitively and socially.
The courts are located at the Recreation Ground on Burcott Lane, Broughton. (Click here for precise location.)
We have 2 all-weather courts, which are both floodlit. We are ideally suited to families, with a safe, enclosed, grassy area next to the courts and the  children's play area just across the field.

Subject to court usage for matches and coaching, members may play at any time up to 10pm (It is a
condition of planning permission that floodlights must not be used after this time).
Members will be notified in advance of any pre-booked sessions, such as league matches and coaching.

Recent Developments

The courts were completely re-surfaced in 2007. (See photos)

In January 2009 the clubhouse suffered a major flood due to frozen water pipes. The amount of damage to the building and contents was so severe that satisfactory cleaning and repairs were impossible. Fortunately our insurance covered the Club for a complete rebuild of the hut and replacement carpets, kitchen units and furniture.( See photo gallery)

With the smart new building in place, the Committee then turned its attention to the much discussed plan of adding a toilet and changing room to the club facilities.
This was completed at the end of June.
The Club is grateful to Nick for his time-consuming drawing up of the plans, to Keith and Anne for their hard work in acquiring funding from various sources to a total of just over £8,000 without which the Club could not have financed this project; and to all the volunteers who have helped at the various stages of construction. See Latest News and photos for details.

The Club would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the vital contributions of the following organisations :

Aylesbury Vale Community Chest
Bucks Community Foundation
Aylesbury Vale Joint Sports Council
Bierton with Broughton Parish Council
Klargester Environmental Ltd
